Labour Minister Opens COVID-19 Vaccination Centers for Section 33 Insured Persons in Chonburi to Boost Group Immunity in 4 Economic Provinces from July 8 to August 23, 2021

          On July 8, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the opening of the COVID-19 Vaccination Center for Section 33 Insured Persons at Central Plaza Chonburi and Amata Castle, Muang, Chonburi, to build group immunity for insured persons in four economic provinces, namely, Chonburi, Rayong, Samut Prakan, and Chachoengsao. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, the Ministry of Labour’s Advisor Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayawong, Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics) Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, Chonburi Provincial Governor Mr. Phakhathorn Thienchai, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. Mr. Suthi said that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, has set COVID-19 vaccinations as a “national agenda.” The Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, is concerned for the workforce. Therefore, the Labour Minister assigned the Social Security Office to work with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Public Health by the National Health Security Office (NHSO), the Ministry of Finance by Krung Thai Bank, and social security network hospitals in both the public and private sectors, to provide Covid-19 vaccinations to insured persons to control the spread of the pandemic further, in factories and workplaces. The first phase provided Covid-19 vaccinations to Section 33 insured persons in dark red areas in Bangkok from June 7 to July 6, 2021. In the past, Section 33 insured persons were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, with 583,313 people already receiving the first dose. The next phase will accelerate vaccinations to insured persons in provinces in the economic areas.

          Mr. Suchart said that today was a good opportunity to open the COVID-19 Vaccination for Section 33 Insured Persons in Chonburi, following the government’s policy to focus on injections for insured persons to promote immunity for workers around them and people receiving services. This will help businesses and the economy move forward. There were 307,784 registered people from the survey of the need for vaccinations via the e-service system of insured persons in Chonburi. At the same time, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office will expedite the vaccination process for Section 33 insured persons in four provinces, namely Chonburi, Rayong, Samut Prakan, and Chachoengsao. The vaccination centers for insured persons in each province are as follows: Chonburi Province at Amata City, Chonburi, Central Plaza, Chonburi, Pacific Park, Sriracha, and Central Marina Pattaya. There are 374,135 insured persons who need vaccinations. The centers have the potential to vaccinate 4,200 people per day. In Rayong Province, Real Park, Pluak Daeng, and SCG Chemical Thai Co., Ltd. There are 250,201 insured people who need vaccinations. The centers have the potential to vaccinate 2,000 people per day. In Chachoengsao Province, Delta Electronics (Thailand). There are146,733 insured persons who need vaccinations. The center has the potential to vaccinate 1,700 people daily. Samut Prakan Province, at Thai Yamaha Motors Co., Ltd., Auditorium of Phra Samut Chedi District Office, Tor Yod Fresh (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and the Samut Prakan City Observatory. There are 471,683 insured people who need vaccinations. The centers have the potential to vaccinate 4,000 people daily. The total number of registered, insured persons is 1,242,752 people, for 11,900 people per day. The services will start from July 8 to August 23, 2021, from 9.00 hours to 4.00 hours (Monday-Friday). Only insured persons who register through the e-service system can be vaccinated. The centers will not accept walk-ins. The Ministry of Labour is ready to operate at its best to encourage insured persons to get the COVID-19 vaccine. For registered, insured persons who have not received schedules for their first vaccination, when the Social Security Office has been allocated vaccines, it will appoint the insured person to receive injections in the following batch, sorted by registration order.

          However, insured persons who do not receive the vaccinations as scheduled will have their rights considered waived.
