On 1 February 2017, Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul and committee paid an unannounced visit to the Social Security Office in Bangkok Area 7, where he met with Mr. Kampol Tortanakul, Director of the Social Security Office in Bangkok Area 7. The visit found that the Social Security Office in Bangkok Area 7 provided satisfactory services to its visitors. The Labour Minister presented policies to Mr. Kampol on further improvements for better provision of services such as location cleanliness, more effective and service-minded information services and implementation of 5 core values amongst staff.
The Labour Minister and committee then progressed to visit Bangpakok 8 Hospital, part of the Social Security Network which has 67,000 insurers. A survey found that the hospital’s patients were satisfied with its services. The hospital’s information showed that insurers chose social security benefits over others as patients were more confident in the hospital’s care and better benefits where medical costs can cover up to 3,950 Baht annually. The information also revealed that more insurers were using the free physical examination program gifted to insurers on the occasion of the new year’s which started in January. Bangpakok 8 Hospital was also satisfied with the easier and faster reimbursement of medical expenses from the compensation fund.
