Labour Minister Prepares Nearly 20,000 Beds in Hospitels For Insured Persons to Support COVID-19 Patients

Content Description

Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the progress on bed management to support Sections 33 and 39 insured persons infected with COVID-19 from the current pandemic situation. He said that the Ministry of Labour by the Social Security Office had prepared hospital medical personnel in the social security network, with nearly 20,000 beds in Hospitels; approximately 12,000 beds have been used. Once the insured person recovers and the doctors allow them to go home, the beds will be empty again. Insured persons are circulating in and out every day. At the same time, the Social Security Office will coordinate to find additional beds to support adequate treatment of the insured. Therefore, insured persons are asked not to worry and can be assured that the Ministry of Labour will manage beds and support insured persons with treatment from the medical and nursing team of hospitals in the social security network very well.

“Insured persons should not worry and be rest assured that the government, the Ministry of Labour, and relevant agencies will be able to provide care for everyone infected with COVID-19 equally. There are enough beds to support patients to receive prompt treatment. The Prime Minister is concerned and has charged us to help take care of the workforce like family members without leaving anyone behind. We will overcome this crisis together,” concluded Mr. Suchart.

The Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, said that currently, the Social Security Office had prepared the 1506 hotline, press 6 and 7, as a means of contact for insured persons who are unable to find examination sites and hospitals to receive treatment in case of infection. It also provides coordination to assist insured persons infected with COVID-19. The service is available every day from 08.00 to 18.00 hours. There is staff to help insured persons and people suffering from COVID-19 testing to ensure they get help promptly. After being notified, officials will quickly coordinate the transfer of the infected person, logging them into the treatment system at a hospital or Hospitel first, emphasizing that infected insured persons receive treatment in Hospitels.
