Labour Minister Receives 2,000 Survival Bags to Help Employees in Worker Camp Sites

          On July 6, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin received 2,000 survival bags from Dr. Siwet Rojanasoonthorn, Head of the Central Administration Department, Chief Operation Officer, Asset World Corp PCL, and Ms. Torpad Subanrak, Head of the Strategic Marketing Department and Sustainability, Asset World Corp PCL. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitvong, Major General Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics) Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion at the Chatumonkol Meeting Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart said that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan are concerned for the workforce and those impacted by the CCSA’s measure to close construction worker’s camp. The measure aims to restrict the traveling and movement of workers in the dark red provinces such as Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, and Nakhon Pathom for one month, to control the spread of Covid-19 in worker camp clusters. The Ministry of Labour was assigned to take care of the workers affected by the measures by paying compensation for unemployment benefits at 50 percent of wages.

          “Today, the Ministry of Labour would like to thank the private sector, like Asset World Corp PCL for their cooperation with the government sector in supporting 2,000 sets of survival bags, including rice, instant noodles, canned fish, snacks, drinking water, and masks, for the Ministry of Labour to deliver to employers. This will be used to help the workforce following the measures to close camps in various sites,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
