Labour Minister Receives Beverages from Thai Group Holdings to Support Workers in Camp Sites

          On July 2, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin received beverage products from Thai Group Holdings worth 5,000,000 Baht. The donation was received from the Executive Chairman of Thai Group Holdings Mr. Chotipat Pechanon, Managing Director of Southeast Insurance, Mr. Montree Wongtareu and Assistant Managing Director, Corporate Communications, Thai Group Holdings, Ms. Siriporn Suwiwatthanakun. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayawong, Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics) Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion at the Chatumongkol Meeting Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.
          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart said that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, is concerned for the workforce, from the CCSAs decision to close construction worker’s campsites, restricting the travel and movement of workers in the dark red provinces such as Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Pathom for one month. The measure aims to control the spread of COVID-19 in worker camp clusters. In addition, the Ministry of Labour was assigned to care for affected workers by paying compensation benefits in the case of unemployment, at the rate of 50 percent of wages.
          “Today, the Ministry of Labour thanks the private sector such as Thai Group Holdings for their cooperation with the government sector in supporting beverage products worth 5,000,000 Baht. The Ministry of Labor will deliver this to help workers impacted by the measures to close worker camps in various sites,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
