On November 12, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin received 100 mobile restrooms from Mr. Somphot Ahunai, Chief Executive Officer of Energy Absolute PCL, and Mrs. Suree Wasinphitphiboon, Advisor of the Pure Heart Foundation. The occasion took place at the foyer on the first floor of the Ministry of Labour’s building. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. Mr. Suchart said that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, are concerned for flood victims. Therefore, he instructed all agencies to go to the areas to help flood victims according to their mission. The Ministry of Labour has visited the area to deliver relief bags and floating restrooms. After the water recedes, the Provincial Employment Office will provide employment and occupational promotion services. The Provincial Labour Office will organize urgent employment and skill development projects, support compensation, and provide professional training materials for continuous income. The Provincial Labour Protection and Welfare Office will provide advice on rights under the labour protection laws. Additionally, the Provincial Social Security Office will take care of benefits for the victims according to their social security rights. It will organize a team of doctors and nurses from hospitals in the network to provide initial care services in the affected areas.
Mr. Suchart further said that on behalf of the government and the Ministry of Labour he thanked network partners like Mr. Somphot Ahunai, CEO of Energy Absolute PCL, and Mrs. Suree Wasinphitphiboon, Advisor of the Pure Heart Foundation, for donating 100 mobile restrooms to the Ministry of Labour. The donation will support and be delivered to communities with many households. Because of the flooding for several months now, the mobile restrooms will help alleviate the suffering of the workers and community members affected by the floods, providing sufficient access.
