Content Description

On June 10, 2024, at 09.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, chaired the press conference for the JOB EXPO THAILAND 2024 event at the Ministry of Labour’s conference room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, the Ministry of Labour’s spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion.

The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, said that the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment has prepared for the JOB EXPO THAILAND 2024 between June 28 to 30, 2024, from 11.00 to 21.00 hours at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, HALL 6 – 7. The event’s goal is to promote Employment, create jobs and careers, and generate a stable income. Over 500,000 domestic jobs and over 100,000 overseas jobs have been prepared to accommodate job applicants at the event. Mini concert activities from famous artists are being organized. It is estimated that over 80,000 people will attend the event throughout its duration.

“I had the opportunity to meet citizens, many young people, and students. I sense that many people do not dare to hope for the opportunity or are hopeless about getting an opportunity, which is very worrying. Therefore, the Ministry of Labour attaches great importance to developing the quality of life of humans. The project is named ‘LET’S BUILD THE FUTURE TOGETHER’ to create opportunities for all Thai people to have a career, receive good compensation and benefits, and develop a better quality of life. I have assigned the Department of Employment to organize a job fair that is more than just job hunting. This job fair must be a space for creating employment opportunities and providing knowledge and understanding of occupations. Most importantly, the work must be fun and bring smiles to everyone. Therefore, the JOB EXPO THAILAND 2024 will be ‘Thailand’s most fun income-generating job fair.’ Over 500,000 domestic jobs will be available from the cooperation of private sector companies such as Minor International, Huawei Technology (Thailand), Thai Airways International, Thai Namthip Corporation, Thai Beverage, and others. In addition, there will be 100,000 jobs available overseas. There will be activities to prepare those entering the labour market, providing knowledge and understanding of occupations and creating opportunities for everyone to try different professions, which will lead to learning from real experiences and preparing people for entering the workforce in the future. And what can’t be missed are the mini-concerts by artists, including ZOM MARIE, MUSKETEER, DEPT, MIRRR, PURPEECH, and SERIOUS BACON. I believe that this event will be the most fun, income-generating job fair in Thailand that will create smiles for everyone who attends,” said Mr. Phiphat.

The Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, added that this year’s event is different from previous years. On the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun’s 72nd birthday on July 28, 2024, the Ministry of Labour joins in expressing its loyalty and gratefulness for His Majesty’s grace, organizing the exhibition “Phra Barami Krirkfa: All Thais Around the World.” It will display His Majesty’s royal duties as an exhibition to illustrate His Majesty’s royal power.
In addition, the Ministry of Labour will organize an exhibition about the Ministry of Labour to present information on the policies of agencies under the Ministry of Labour, which will be beneficial to the people. The Social Security Office will also provide souvenirs to co-workers and students. Another difference is that the Social Security Office will provide health checks via mobile vehicle. There will also be a space set up for receiving complaints, whereby attendees can file a complaint at the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s booth. Another highlight is the effort to find new labour markets abroad, such as Italy. In addition, in Israel, from negotiations for an additional quota, there are increased job positions in the agricultural sector from 5,000 people to 10,000 people, about 20,000 people in the construction sector, and about 10,000 people in the manufacturing sector, which may be more than Taiwan.

The Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, said that, “The “JOB EXPO THAILAND” is a job fair that creates an enjoyable job search experience. Attendees will find many activities, such as job interviews, application activities, and job matching, where the Department of Employment has invited 222 leading companies in Thailand to attend the event, offering over 500,000 job positions nationwide. For workers who are interested in working abroad, the event has prepared a space to provide knowledge about working abroad, offering a total of 100,000 foreign job positions. The event will also give attendees the opportunity to report their desire to work abroad. During the event, everyone can receive advice on using the application services “thaimeengantum” and “working people.” Advisory services will be available on how to make resumes appeal to employers for vulnerable groups, which is one of the target groups that the Ministry of Labour gives great importance to. The event has set up a space for the elderly and disabled to express their wishes for work and find suitable job positions. Furthermore, independent workers can try out their skills in workshop activities for 30 careers. Another special agenda is for independent workers to be able to meet 20 leading franchise operators and 24 professional groups that take work to do at home.”

“The Department of Employment has organized this event to create opportunities for people about to enter the workforce, providing the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and understanding in their preparations to join the labour market. We have invited ten leading educational institutions in Thailand to join in guiding educational paths for careers to offer knowledge and understanding in choosing the right faculty and career for them. Attendees can have fun with the new way of career guidance, giving attendees the opportunity to talk and meet with gurus in 15 different careers to exchange experiences. They can also participate in activities to try out 15 careers that are in high demand in the industry right now. The younger generation, who do not know what careers they are suitable for, can find guidance at the career counseling clinic and career readiness testing area. Don’t miss out on the UPSKILL ZONE from the Department of Skill Development, which has invited 25 leading labour skill development companies in Thailand to provide knowledge and understanding of the importance of developing the quality of skills for occupations to create higher incomes. So, don’t miss out on the JOB EXPO THAILAND 2024 on June 28 to 30, 2024, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, HALL 6 – 7, or stop by the lifestyle area for everyone “SSO MARKET 2024″ from the Social Security Office that combines fashion, food, music, art, coffee and drinks, workshop activities and lifestyle. Meet fashion shops, clothing, and accessories, as well as over 190 trendy restaurants, at the event in nearby halls. The fun starts from 11.00 to 21.00 hours,” said the Department of Employment’s Director-General.
