Labour Minister Reveals the Muslim Community’s Appreciation for the PM Restoring Ties with Saudi Arabia

          The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, chaired the opening ceremony of the “Wan Ruam Jai to Nurul Hidayah (Sang Prateep)” event. President of Lahan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mr. Meesak Itthinakulchai, the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Dr. Chamlong Chuayrod, the Ministry of Labour’s senior executives and the organizing committee welcomed them at Nurul Hidayah Mosque (Saeng Prateep), Lahan Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province.
          Mr. Suchart said that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, gives importance to improving the quality of life of all worker groups, especially informal workers, which has a population of over 22 million people. All workers play an important part in driving the country’s economic and social development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has tried to push various remedial programs to cover both formal and informal worker groups. For informal workers, there was a remedial program for insured persons under Section 40 and self-employed people, such as motorcyclists, taxi drivers, street vendors, singers, musicians, and people who work in the entertainment business in 29 provinces. The program supported the workers with 5,000 Baht each, with payments in two months, for almost 60 billion Baht. In addition, the government is pushing for a bill to promote the quality of life and protection of informal workers, B.E…. It is currently under consideration by the Council of State (9th committee). There is a fund for informal workers to use as a source of loans and working capital for occupation. This will enable workers in the informal sector to have social security and a better quality of life. The event today aims to enhance community participation and strengthen and support self-reliance, in line with the government’s policy that focuses on promoting the participation of community organizations. This will raise the level for community members to have a better quality of life. As the Labour Minister, he commended and thanked the President of Lahan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, members of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization, including the organizing committee, government agencies, private sector agencies, local leaders, and supporters of all parties. The Ministry of Labour is pleased to support the construction of commercial buildings for mosques and preserve religious education that will be useful and valuable to society. This will enable children and youths to study the principles and teachings of religions, to be qualified citizens with morality, and to be an important force in the nation’s development. When the construction is completed, this place will be another source of learning for the community that will also benefit the community’s children in the future.
          President of Lahan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mr. Meesak Itthinakulchai, said that he thanked Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha for caring for the people of all religions equally. The Prime Minister has made the community happy and successfully restored relations with Saudi Arabia, allowing the Muslim community to make a pilgrimage to Mecca more conveniently. Today, he thanked the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, who honoured the event and presided over the opening ceremony, including all sectors involved in promoting community activities to develop the mosque to become a learning resource for the benefit of the community. There were over 500 participants in the event, comprising local leaders, Muslim people, and villagers in Nonthaburi and nearby provinces. The activities at the event included tea drinking for charity and fair selling products by community members. All proceeds from the event will contribute to the cost of the construction of commercial buildings and the maintenance of religious education.
