Labour Minister Shows Concern for Insured Persons with Disabilities and Assigns Advisor and Spokesperson to Give Encouragement in Nakhon Pathom

         On February 9, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat to Nakhon Pathom. Deputy Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province Mr. Khomson Charoenarj, the Social Security Office’s Inspector-General Mrs. Marasri Chaisrangsee, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Nakhon Pathom province gave a welcoming. He joined the visit to encourage and provide lifelong benefits to insured persons with disabilities in Nakhon Pathom Province. There were two cases as follows:

         The first person was Ms. Thanaporn Chum-angwa, 44, a Section 33 insured person with a disability from a hemorrhage in the right side of the brain. She underwent surgery as she has weaknesses in the left arm and leg. She can take short walks and can support herself in some ways. As for the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office, the insured person already received benefits for 257,976.81 Baht. This is divided into compensation for lack of income in case of disability, ambulance or transportation costs for the handicapped, and medical service fees in case of disability. She has received an old-age pension with interest. In addition, she also receives monthly compensation for life, such as compensation for lack of income in case of disability for 2,400 Baht per month, plus transportation costs for the disabled for 500 Baht per month. The visit took place at the insured person’s home in Phra Prathon Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province.

         The second person was Mrs. Pranee Pakpoom, 63, a Section 33 insured person with a disability and illness from a stroke. Her left arm and legs are weak. She can’t speak clearly but can walk slowly using a walking aid. She has depression and stress. The insured person has already received benefits for 658,107.47 Baht. This is divided into compensation for lack of income in case of disability, ambulance or transportation costs for the handicapped, and medical service fees in the case of disability. She has received an old-age pension with interest. In addition, she also receives monthly compensation for life, such as compensation for lack of income in case of disability for 2,400 Baht per month, plus transportation costs for the disabled for 500 Baht per month. The visit took place at the insured person’s home in Thanon Khat Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province.

         Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, has concerns about employees and insured persons experiencing harm causing them to become a person with disabilities. They place importance on taking care of insured persons in every aspect. Today, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned her, the Ministry of Labour’s spokesperson (on politics), and the group to visit the area in Nakhon Pathom province. They visited insured persons who suffer from disabilities to build morale to feel the government’s warmth, care, and attention, ensuring they have good benefits from social security to create stability in life and the best quality of life for insured persons.
