Labour Minister Supports Job Creation and Increased Income with “JOB FAIR 2025 @Songkhla”: Over 2,000 Jobs Opportunities Available with Comprehensive Career Guidance

            On March 14, 2025, the Ministry of Labour, through the Department of Employment, is moving forward to create employment opportunities for people in Songkhla Province, the economic center of the South. It has collaborated with business operators and the Prince of Songkla University to organize the “JOB FAIR 2025 @Songkhla” event. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, presided over the opening ceremony. The event was attended by Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Somchai Maruksriwan, Director-General of the Department of Employment and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, along with Mr. Jirawat Maneechote, Deputy Governor of Songkhla Province, Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Kaewpradab, President of Prince of Songkla University, Mr. Kobchai Wongwaiyut, Songkhla Provincial Employment Officer, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Songkhla at the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne International Convention Center, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus.

            Mr. Phiphat said that Songkhla Province is an important strategic area of ​​the South. With special economic zones, it has the highest value of border trade in the country with rubber industrial estates and tourism businesses. Therefore, the Ministry of Labour is pushing for stable employment by joining hands with the private sector to expand employment opportunities that meet the needs of workers in the area and neighboring provinces by giving opportunities to people who need jobs, extra income, or skills development to meet leading companies. The event will be recruiting for over 2,000 job positions from March 14 to 15, 2025.

            Mr. Phiphat continued that finding a job, whether the job seeker graduated in the right field or not, will have equal job opportunities. Labour graduates and volunteers are ready to provide career advice in the area. The Department of Skill Development can help with free upskill and reskill training to provide skills that meet the needs of the labour market. As for freelancers, there is a career promotion fund that offers loans of up to 300,000 baht. Importantly, Songkhla Province is ready to be a center for MICE work. It is a quality-standard conference center to support international events and can be visited through land, water, and air transportation. It offers an opportunity to create jobs and increase income.

            “This event is not just about finding a job but also about opportunities to create a career and develop yourself. We invite students, unemployed people, and people who want to generate income to quickly apply and join the event,” Mr. Phiphat emphasized.

            Mr. Somchai Maruksriwan, Director-General of the Department of Employment, spoke about the “JOB FAIR 2025 @Songkhla” event. He said that participants can immediately apply for jobs and interviews with over 70 leading companies. There are job openings such as factory engineers, accountants, distribution center staff, and service staff in various fields, both in the industrial and tourism sectors, as well as “Learn to Earn Skills 2025” training to prepare workers for the new job market. There are also six freelance career training programs, such as barista, 3D flower jelly making, miniature bottle gardening, and DIY jewelry.
