Labour Minister Visit Udon Thani on Informal Worker Preparation in Isan Region

            The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and spokesperson Mr. Ananchai Uthaipatanacheep revealed that Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul and committee had plans to visit Udon Thani province on 18 August 2017 to follow up preparation on labour and human resource development in the Northeastern regions. The particular focus was on informal and low-income workers, to promote employment, stable income and prepare to become a MICE hub within the Mekhong sub-region. 

Mr. Ananchai explained that during the visit, the Labour Minister listened to problems, obstacles and advice from private enterprises, academics and other relevant units. He also presented operational guidelines to affiliated units in 5 provinces including Udon Thani, Bueng Kan, Loei, Nong Khai and Nong Bua Lam Phu at the Prince Prachaksinlapakhom meeting room at the Udon Thani City Hall. The Labour Minister also met with informal workers at the Na Phur subdistrict office in Phen district, also visiting service users at affiliate units.
