The Labour Minister said that the Government and the Ministry of Labour have made it important to protect the workforce from enjoying equal protection and rights in all sectors. Today, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office is determined to create social security that is comprehensive and suitable for people of all ages and groups to support rapid change, especially in the context of an aging society. It has invited informal or independent workers to obtain security to promote stability in life, as these workers are important in driving national development. Furthermore, if such worker groups have stability in life, it gives rise to confidence in work and life, positively impacting the economic system, generating income for the country, and promoting prosperity to the nation.

Mr. Suchart said that this project’s implementation is intended to promote and invite self-employed people, community leaders, merchants, students, and the general public participating in recognizing and disseminating information on the social security benefits under Section 40. The three options provide coverage, such as offering compensation from a lack of income from illness, disability, death or old age, and child welfare. The goal is also to inform and disseminate the benefits of being an insured person under Section 40 for members of various occupational groups so that independent workers can make more informed decisions to apply for Social Security Section 40. In the morning, the Labour Minister and his team visited two insured persons with disabilities. They participated in a campaign to promote public relations to raise awareness at Bang Saen Beach, Muang, Chonburi. The campaign’s goal was so that independent workers can apply to be an insured person under Section 40, creating participation for local people to access security in life and help reduce social inequality following government policy as well.
