Labour Minister Visits Samut Sakhon to Campaign Social Security Section 40 Among Independent Workers

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin commenced the Social Security Public Relations Project, Section 40@Samut Sakhon, to campaign and invite informal workers or independent workers to receive security guarantees in their lives.
          On November 9, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the opening ceremony of the Social Security Public Relations Project, Section 40@ Samut Sakhon at Central Plaza Mahachai, Nadi, Mueang Samut Sakhon, Samut Sakhon. Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan and Chairman of the Labour Commission, The House of Representatives Mr. Suthep U-On, Member of the House of Representatives Ms. Anusee Tubsuwan, the Social Security Office’s Secretary-General Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. Samut Sakhon Provincial Governor Mr. Weerasak Wichitsangsri gave a welcoming. The Labour Minister said that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, has focused on strengthening social security to be inclusive and appropriate for all ages, to support the rapid change to an aging society. Today, the Labour Minister commenced the Social Security Public Relations Project, Section 40@Samut Sakhon, thereby the Social Security Office campaigns and invite informal or independent workers to secure stability in life.
          Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour recognizes that independent workers are an important force as part of driving national development. Therefore, if such worker groups have stability in their lives, they can have confidence in their work and life, which will have a positive effect on the economy, generating income and bringing prosperity to the nation. The implementation of the Social Security Public Relations Project, Section 40@ Samut Sakorn, organized various activities to promote independent workers, community leaders, merchants, students, and the public participating in the project, to recognize and disseminate information about social security benefits under Section 40. All three options have extensive coverage, whether it is compensation for the lack of income from illness, disability, death, old age, and child allowance. The activities also shared the conditions of being an insurer under Section 40 for various professional groups to understand and share with the general public, as well as allowing more independent workers to apply for access to benefits from Section 40 under the social security system, according to government policies.
