On August 3, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, visited Satun Province to give encouragement and give gifts to one disabled insured person. From the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, joined the occasion. The heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Satun Province and the family of the insured persons also gave a welcome.
The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, revealed that today, he, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, and officers from the Satun Provincial Social Security Office visited the insured person with disabilities. He shared words of encouragement to the insured person in the social security system. It was an excellent opportunity to come and talk, introduce benefits, and facilitate contact and coordination with agencies under the Ministry of Labour. In this regard, he also brought necessary consumer goods to give to the disabled insured person under the care of the Satun Provincial Social Security Office. The insured person was Ms. Hasana Labaide, an insured person under Section 39 in Khuan Sto Subdistrict, Khuan Don District, Satun Province. She currently lives with her mother, who suffers from chronic rheumatoid arthritis and muscle weakness and has lost 38 percent of her physical functioning ability. She has received disability rights since November 11, 2017, receiving 1,440 Baht per month in income replacement and a retirement pension totaling 50,161.05 Baht.
Mr. Phiphat continued that no matter where the insured persons are, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office is ready to provide assistance and comprehensive care to ensure that the insured person has a good quality of life while prioritizing the insured person’s best interests.
From there, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, and a delegation visited the area to inspect the work of officials. Academic Labour Expert acting as the head of the Wang Prachan checkpoint, Mr. Pichet Malinee, gave a welcome at the Wang Prachan checkpoint, Wang Prachan Sub District, Khuan Don District, Satun Province. The Wang Prachan checkpoint is a land customs checkpoint next to Wang Kliang City, Perlis State, Malaysia. The area of responsibility is Khuan Don District, Satun Province. It can be reached by public car, van, and taxi. It is an area with an international border trade market, which is an agreement between Satun Province and Perlis State. The essential results of the work between October 2023 and July 2024 include disseminating information to prevent fraud in working abroad in 4,146 cases, providing advice and suggestions on working abroad for 3,066 cases, checking travel through the checkpoint out of the country for 2,655 cases, checking people who are likely to work overseas for 658 instances, receiving notification of traveling abroad to work (re-entry) for 1,982 cases, and job seekers reporting their travel into the country for 1,232 cases. On this occasion, the Labour Minister also visited and campaigned for shop owners at the Wang Prachan border trade market to enter the Social Security System under Section 40.
