Labour Minister Visits Tel Aviv in the Sieren Zone Amid Hamas Attack on Israel

Content Description

On May 26, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, the Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General, Mr. Wichit Intaracharoen, and the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, visited Israel to meet the Ministers of the Interior, Labour, and Agriculture of Israel. They also visited Thai workers. The Ambassador of Thailand to Israel, Miss Pannabha Chandraramya, gave a welcome.

Mr. Phiphat said that he and his delegation just arrived in Tel Aviv. They had lunch at Makom Shel Basar restaurant, and their first meal was approximately 14.00 hours, which is 18.00 hours in Thailand. There has been a warning of a major rocket launch into Tel Aviv, Israel. The sound of the iron dome’s firing could be clearly heard.

“The fact that my group and I have only just arrived in Tel Aviv and have seen rockets being fired into Tel Aviv without a serious incident occurring shows the strength of the Israeli air defense system. While my group and I were eating, a siren sounded. There was a warning signal coming in that rockets were being fired into Tel Aviv. After a moment, there was a loud explosion and the destruction of the iron dome system, which gave us more confidence that if workers come to work in Israel, they will be well taken care of,” Mr. Phiphat said.
