Labour Minister’s Advisor Joins Meeting to Discuss the Establishment of a Myanmar Labour Group in Khao Yoi, Phetchaburi Province

Content Description

On October 10, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to preside over the meeting to discuss establishing a Myanmar labour group in Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi Province. The Provincial Employment Officer, the Provincial Labour Office, the Provincial Labour Welfare and Protection Officer, and the community headsman attended the meeting at the meeting room on the 2nd floor, Phetchaburi Provincial Employment Office.
The meeting followed the wish of Burmese workers in the Khao Yoi District of Phetchaburi Province to join a group of Myanmar community volunteers in Wat Nong Som, Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi Province. Its purpose is to help Myanmar people in case of illness or road accidents.
The meeting resolved to disapprove the establishment of a foreign worker’s volunteer group as it may cause instability, interests, or influential groups in the future and impact national security matters. According to the law, the establishment of such associations or foundations can not be carried out. There is also a call for donations to raise money by referring to religion. The meeting, therefore, did not allow the operation and will enforce the law if such actions are taken.
