Labour Minister’s Secretariat Commences “Job Fair 2025 @ Khon Kaen”: 38 Leading Companies Join to Recruit, Create Opportunities and Careers Paths for Workers in the Northeast

            On January 17, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, assigned Mr. Aree Krainara, Secretariat to the Labour Minister, to preside over the opening ceremony of the “Job Fair 2025 @ Khon Kaen.” Mr. Sibmuenchai Phothisin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Employment, gave a report. Mr. Decha Phrukphatthanarak, the Director-General of the Department of Skill Development, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanokorn Boonmee, President of Northeastern University, and executives of the Ministry of Labour joined in the event. Mr. Yuthaporn Pirunsan, Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen Province, gave a welcome speech. Heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Khon Kaen Province, students, and private sector businesses joined in the welcome at the Prakon Convention Hall, Northeastern University, Khon Kaen Province.

            Mr. Aree Krainara, Secretariat to the Labour Minister, said that he was delighted and honoured that Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, assigned him to preside over the opening ceremony of the “Job Fair 2025 @ Khon Kaen” today. The Ministry of Labour, under the leadership of Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, prioritizes the promotion of people to have jobs and incomes that are appropriate for their knowledge and abilities, in line with the policy of “Outstanding social security, emphasizing modern skills: Thai people have jobs, creating a culture of safety, a stable economy, and a stable Thai workforce”. Therefore, the “Workforce Meetup” project was organized in every region of the country, in the provinces of Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, Chiang Mai, Songkhla, Pathum Thani, Chonburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Ratchasima, Udon Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, and Pattani, respectively. For Khon Kaen Province, it was organized under the name of “Job Fair 2025 @ Khon Kaen”, which will be a mechanism to promote employment and income, creating widespread opportunities. In addition, it also helps businesses find workers with skills that meet their needs. It is also an opportunity for everyone to participate in activities that help them get to know themselves, their strengths, and the future trends of the labour market, so that they can develop their skills appropriately.

            “The Ministry of Labour, represented by Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, thanks all government and private sector partners for organizing this event. The event aims to provide opportunities for job seekers, the unemployed, students close to graduation, military personnel preparing for discharge, and members of the public who want to have a job, and the opportunity to apply for jobs directly with employers and businesses, to try out freelance training, and to discover themselves through participating in activities prepared by the Department of Employment. We believe that these activities are beneficial to all participants,” said Mr. Aree.

            Mr. Sibmuenchai Phothisin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Employment, said that the purpose of organizing the event is to promote employment and to allow employers/businesses and job seekers to meet. The event features activities such as direct recruitment and interviews with employers/businesses in Khon Kaen and neighboring provinces, totaling 38 leading companies, such as Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL, Central Food Wholesale Co., Ltd., Atlas Energy PCL, M-Money Broadband Co., Ltd., CP All PCL, and Maguro Group PCL. The companies offered 1,210 vacancies, such as store employees, technicians, assistant managers, after-sales service officers, operation staff, department heads, and warehouse staff. The event also supported the recruitment of students, the disabled, and the elderly. It hosted a seminar on “Opportunities and Challenges of the Labour Market in the Digital Age,” provided consultations and registrations for those interested in working abroad, had mobile job placement services, career demonstrations, and training on independent careers, such as making vinyl bags, weaving plastic baskets, garlands of sarongs, fermented fish paste, banana cakes, and DIY hair clips. The event also hosted an exhibition of educational guidance for students close to graduation, a virtual learning exhibition, career guidance services, career readiness testing, personality assessments for further education and career selection, exhibitions and sales of products for home workers, freelancers, franchise businesses, and food trucks, as well as many economical blue flag products for sale.

            The Ministry of Labour invites job seekers, students, and the public who are interested in finding jobs, developing skills, and finding ideas for additional careers to meet at the “Job Fair 2025 @ Khon Kaen” from January 17 to 18, from 08.00 to 16.00 hours.
