Labour Minister’s Secretariat Promotes Workplaces to Control Employee Safety and Reduce Work-Related Accidents to Zero

The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, who commence the academic seminar on occupational health and safety in the region in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, for 2024. The occasion took place at Lam Takong Room, Kantary Hotel, Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Mr. Suraphan Silpasuwan, gave a welcoming speech. The Director of the Thailand Institute Of Occupational Safety And Health (Public Organization), Mr. Nantachai Panyasurarit, reported the event’s objectives. The heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Nakhon Ratchasima Province joined in giving a welcome, emphasizing that workplaces must strictly control workplace safety at all levels.

Within the event, Mr. Aree Krainara awarded certificates of honour to 40 establishments that passed the criteria for the Zero Accident Campaign 2024 in the Northeast. It emphasizes establishments taking into account the safety of employees at all levels equally in order to benefit employees, business operators, and the country’s economy.

The Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, was interviewed by the media on the issue of workplace safety. He said that the northeastern region, namely Nakhon Ratchasima and Khon Kaen Provinces, is currently constructing an elevated railway through the city to accommodate the expansion of the town. Therefore, in organizing the seminar on occupational health and safety in the region in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, TOSH focuses on the seminar topic of “construction safety,” including guidelines on the rights of all workers, which will make everyone safe 24 hours a day, because safety does not only happen in the factory but can happen anywhere.

In addition, the Director of the Thailand Institute Of Occupational Safety And Health (Public Organization), Mr. Nantachai Panyasurarit, emphasized the importance of reducing work-related accidents to zero. The Zero Accident Campaign aims for every business establishment to create a plan and campaign activities to reduce accidents to zero and to receive cooperation from all sectors in the factory.
