On the 13th February 2015, the Labour Office in Japan led by advisor (on labour) Mr. Suchart Saengourai, Mrs. Mali Wadawattana, Assistant on foreign employment promotion and Mr. Niran Oumaemara, general coordinator were invited by IM Japan to run orientation for 32 trainees of batch number B26-10 at the training center in Miami Kachina city, Chiba.
The Labour Office in Japan gave a lecture to the Thai trainees about working and living in Japan including adjusting to Japanese laws and regulations and strictly complying to them and working hard and punctual in the Japanese working culture. The orientation also informed the trainees of overtime working in Japan, legal compliance and regulations in the workplace such as working in strict accordance to outlined procedures, road rules when cycling to work and other topics all the way up to acting appropriately outside of working hours, not causing disturbances to others especially surrounding Japanese communities. In the past, some trainees had even been arrested around the community for being too loud, and thus the Labour Office expressed hope for the trainees to be model representatives of Thailand.
The Labour Office representatives also hoped that the Thai trainees were not only concerned about the compensation during the program and encouraged the workers to practice their Japanese language stills during free time, as the traineeship would allow the trainees to directly practice their language with the local people. The representatives also reiterated that developing language capabilities would allow the trainees to apply skills to future jobs, increasing earnings. They also cautioned the trainees to beware of some Thai groups in mischief, scamming the trainees to work elsewhere, using money or advertisements in Facebook in attempts to attract the trainees; once any trainee falls for the scam, they will be sold and used like slaves. This is an illegal activity that the Labour Office said they would not be able to help.
