On Thursday 22nd January 2015, the Labour Office in Singapore collaborated with the Consul, Thai Association in Singapore, Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education and labour volunteers in visiting workers from the Westlite Dormitory (Toh Guan), where 60 Thai workers are currently residing. The Labour Office informed the workers of Singaporean labour laws, providing brochures and manuals on tax refunds and contracts, providing initial medical checkups, blood pressure tests and informing the workers of the 5 Good Deed Project in honour of His Majesty the King. The Consul provided advice on different services on offer by the consulate, and the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education informed the workers of orientation syllabuses during holidays. The Labour Office in Singapore, the Consul and the Thai Association in Singapore prepared meals and beverages, and sporting equipment for the workers.
