Labour Section of Royal Thai Embassy in Tel-aviv visits Thai worker who sustains shrapnel injury

On Sunday 7th November 2011, Labour Section of Royal Thai Embassy in Tel-avivi visited a Thai wokrers who sustains a shrapnel injury in a rocket attack in Gaza district on November 6. The worker — Mr. Nikom Kampamee – who sustained minor injury from the attack, was sent to Barzilia hospital; he is now in safe condition.
 
Mr. Nikom said he came to work in Israel in May 2011, around 7 months ago, as aagrilculrualist in Kibbutz Kamiya, which is loacted in Ashkelon city. He was sent to work by J.J.S. Bangkok Development & Manpower Co.,LTd, a job placement firm. Mr. Dudu is his employer.
 
The incident occered at 3 am on 6 November 2011. The rocket fired from Gaza district fell 4 metres from his bedroom. He sustained minor a shrapnel injuy on his leg as a result. He was immedietly taken to the Barzilia hospital by his employer. Doctor decided to sealed the wound and not to remove a piece of shrapnel that is deep in his leg for safey concern. He was allowed to leave the hospital on November 8.
 
Nonetheless, his employer has reported the case to Office of Social Secuirty and will apply for social secuirty benefits Mr. Kikom is entitled for soon after officail medical result comes out. The benefits include all medical expenses and income replacement for the period of time he is out of work for medical treatment.
