Letter of 7 Demands Received from TSLC

          Today (21 August 2017) at 10.00 hours, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector Mr. Wiwat Chirapanvanich as representative, received a letter submitted by the Thai Labour Solidarity Committee (TSLC), by committee president Mr. Sawit Kaewwan and committee members at the Labour Relations Committee. After the receiving the letter, Mr. Wiwat said that he would present the issues to the Wage Committee and Social Security Committee. The issues that the TLSC followed up on included 1) Application of the same minimum wage nationwide 2) Ratification of ILO Convention 87 on freedom of association and protection of the right to organize and ILO Convention 98 on the right to organize and collective bargaining 3) Reformation of benefits in state enterprises 4) Social security reform 5) Election of the social security committee 5) Increasing insurer benefits under Section 40 6) Establishment of a hedge fund and 7) Funding security institutions
