The Ministry of Labour plans to organize a seminar under the theme “May Day….from Manpower to Brainpower” this Thursday 27 April 2017 from 11.00-16.30, at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram meeting room at the Ministry of Labour’s building. The media and members of the general public are also invited to join.
The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and spokesperson explained that the workforce is an important component of the economy and society, particularly in driving towards a Thailand 4.0. For this reason, on the occasion of 1 May 2017 which is Labour Day, the Ministry of Labour will organize the seminar “May Day….from Manpower to Brainpower”, whereby Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul will chair the opening ceremony. The seminar will share the transformation of the Thai workforce and its importance to the economy and society, policy and direction from the government for a Thailand 4.0 and Brainpower phase and subsequent support from the public sector. The seminar will also allow the exchange of information and ideas from all relevant stakeholders.
Speakers will include Associate Professor Lae Dilokvidhyarat from the Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University, Mr. Sumet Mahosot, Director-General from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, the Ministry of Labour, businessman Dr. Narong Chokwatana and Mr. Chaiporn Chantana, Chairman of the Labour Congress of Thailand, where 200 participants are expected to attend.
