Mr. Kriangsak Kittichaisaree, Executive Director of Thailand Trade and Economic Office in Taipei, represented a Thai side at the ceremony, which was attended by some 300 Thai people and workers in Taiwan.

Ling Zhou Sun temple is a well-known Mahayana buddhist temple in Taiwan. It has enjoyed good relations with Theravada Buddhism in Thailand. Several Buddha images given by the late Thai Supreme Patriarch were placed at the temple, including Phra Buddha Saiyas, Phra Buddha Chinnasri and Phra Sri Sardsada. Each year, the Office of Labour Affairs in Taipei borrows Buddha images from the temple for use in Songkran ceremony, where Thai workers and participants can pay them respect. It receives good cooperation from the temple.
