On January 17, 2013, Mrs Ratiwan Sonntara, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affair) and Mr. Chingchai Srirratwong, oversea employment promotion assistance officer, led employers of Tripod Technology Corporation and Victory Circuit Co. Ltd. to select Thai workers through the Department of Employment’s direct recruitment system at Ayutthaya Provincial Officeo f Labour.
On January 17, 2013, Mrs Ratiwan Sonntara, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affair) and Mr. Chingchai Srirratwong, oversea employment promotion assistance officer, led employers of Tripod Technology Corporation and Victory Circuit Co. Ltd. to select Thai workers through the Department of Employment’s direct recruitment system at Ayutthaya Provincial Officeo f Labour.
A total of 118 Thai job-seekers applied for available positions and 71 were selected by the Departmetn opf Employent, consisting of 46 males and 25 females. Tripod Technology Corporation selected 40 of them, consisitng of 23 males (excluding 6 subsitutes) and 4 females (excluding 7 subsitutes). Victory Circuit Co. Ltd. selected 31 workers, consisting of 10 males (excluding 7 substitutes) and 7 females (excluding 7 substitutes).
The direct recruitment system helps reduce amount of times spend on recruitment process for migrant workers, which could take up to 3 months, to one month. Job-seekers also do not have to pay high service and job-placement fees. They only have to pay for an air flight to Taiwan, worth around 30,000 baht and an accomodation fee of 2,500 Taiwan dollar per month, health check fee, housing permit fee, contributions to labour and health funds as according to the laws in Taiwan. An employer will pay for their return air ticket after their employment contract expire and for monthly fee for Taiwanese job-placement firms.
