The labour shortage problem in Taiwan has been increasingly severe causing Ministry of Economic Affairs as the agency regulating the national economic development has to urgently implement. Taiwan’s Minister of Economic Affairs Shih Yen-shiang indicated that earlier the number of entrepreneurs claimed that night shift-worker and workers for troublesome works had been in shortage. Hence, Ministry of Economic Affairs shall gather this information to discuss with Council of Labour Affairs (CLA) regarding the quota of foreign workers importation in order to find a resolution.
Mr. Shih indicated that he shall prior discuss with CLA whether there would be others special method to consider quota of foreign labours. Currently, he is gathering information on what kind of industry particularly needs labours. After revising the gathered information, he would discuss with CLA so as to find a solution.
