Ministry of Labor cooperates with ILO to protect fishing rights for international standards.

            Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor assigned Mr. Viwat Tanghong, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor to preside over the Uncertified Undersecretary Meeting in the Fisheries and Seafood Industry (PSC). 7/2018 together with Mrs. Luisa Ragher, EU Ambassador to Thailand, by Mr. Graeme Buckley, Director of the International Labor Office to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and attended the meeting with Department of Labor Building, 5th Floor. The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of the project in four objectives: strengthening the policy and legal framework, labor inspection and enforcement, good labor practice (GLP), and support, Labor and access to services. The meeting was informed and considered issues such as mid-term evaluation report include a framework for monitoring and evaluation. The implementation of the gender dimension in the program activities. It also exchanges information on research and dissemination activities of the ILO.


            For the anti-unacceptable work program in the fisheries and seafood industry, which is an academic collaboration between the Ministry of Labor, the International Labor Organization, the private sector, NGOs, civil society and related agencies to ensure that fishermen have access to a mechanism to protect workers’ rights under the law and upgraded to the highest standards.
