On July 13, 2018, at 14.00 hrs, Gen. Prajin Chuntong, Deputy Prime Minister, presided over the opening ceremony. “TO BE NUMBER ONE MINISTER MEETING” was held in the year 2018, with H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, accompanied by Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor. Squadron Leader Dr. Boonruang Triruangvaravat, The Director General of the Department of Mental Health reported at Hall 9 and the Grand Diamond Hall, IMPACT FORUM, Muang Thong Thani.
Squadron Leader Dr. Boonruang said the campaign to prevent and solve the drug problem TO BE NUMBER ONE has been working for the 16th anniversary to commemorate Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi, since 2002, under three strategies: 1. Campaign to create value. “To be one without dependence on drugs.” 2. To build mental immunity and 3. To build and develop a network to prevent and solve drug problems in the project, focusing on modern activities, taking advantage of nature and the needs of adolescents, the main target group of the project. The results of recent research evaluations in the past year found several successes. The TO BE NUMBER ONE activity encourages members to have more positive attitudes, such as decreased appetite, self esteem, strong mental immunity and can tell the activities that are useful to others. This is a major factor in preventing drug use. Tracking to drive and develop the TO BE NUMBER ONE project for quality and sustainability.
There are two main approaches to the operation: 1. The President has the grace to follow the work and visit the TO BE NUMBER ONE club in the school community, observation and protection of juveniles, prisons and probation offices in every province in the region and in the whole of Bangkok at least 25 clubs per year and 2. The main host of the project is the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Bangkok, Office of the Narcotics Control Board, and Ministry of Public Health jointly organized “TO BE NUMBER ONE” contest at both regional and national level to stimulate the development of continuous and sustainable operation and to create a platform to share learning between the TO BE NUMBER ONE network.
