Ministry of Labour Aligns Understanding on Transparency and Corruption Evaluation

Content Description

Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Anurak Tossarat presided over the commencement of the workshop on evaluating ethics and transparency within the Ministry of Labour; the workshop took place at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram conference room.

In his speech, he spoke about the national strategies for a corrupt-free nation where the mission is to create an anti-corruption culture and elevate standards of good governance to meet international standards. The Ministry of Labour has devised a 20-year strategy with 8+1 agendas on reformation with zero corruption as one of the agendas. Relevant operational frameworks were introduced at the workshop, to help create an understanding on evaluating ethics and transparency in state enterprises, which can also be adjusted to suit other units. Alignment with the framework will ensure the Ministry of Labour remains transparent and honest, which is an index in measuring national corruption levels. Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul has given great importance to zero tolerance policies for total elimination of corruption.
Mr. Anurak explained that corruption has created countless problems to the nation. He said that even though some issues may appear small, ignoring them could lead to larger consequences such as charging personal items with public energy sources, using government vehicles and assets for personal use and not helping to save resources.
