MOL Assigns Advisor to Commence “Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Menaro” to Support Employment to Enhance Narathiwat’s Border Trade

     On July 15, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit, to chair the opening of the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Menaro”. The Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, gave a report. The Chairman of the Labour Minister’s Working Group, Mr. Najmuddin Umar also joined the ceremony. The Deputy Governor of Narathiwat Province, Mr. Weerapat Buntharik, Labour Academic with Special Expertise and Acting Employment Officer for Narathiwat Province, Ms. Chapaphat Monsukrat, along with heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Narathiwat Province welcomed  them at the Phikun Lan, Narathiwat Rajanagarindra University, Lamphu Subdistrict, Mueang Narathiwat District, Narathiwat Province.
     The Advisor to the Labour Minister, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit, said that the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment organized the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Menaro” for employers, establishments, and job seekers to meet and partake in direct recruitment activities with companies directly. The event aims to inspire and spark career ideas to use in planning or as a guideline for selecting courses in further education or choosing a career appropriately. It creates opportunities for participants to learn and practice interesting independent careers, which can be used to develop or extend their careers, including being able to adapt to the development of technology in various forms. In addition, it has received cooperation from the Ministry of Commerce to bring in blue flag products at affordable prices to serve the people of Narathiwat and nearby provinces. Participants will have access to affordable products, which will ease the burden of household expenses. The event hosts a variety of other activities. With Narathiwat province bordering the border with Malaysia, it is convenient to travel by car, train, and plane. There are also beautiful natural tourist attractions and diverse cultures represented. People work in agriculture and also engage in trading, service, and investments with neighboring countries. People in the area like to work in their home province. This event is considered beneficial to the participants. It contributes to the development of the workforce to support growth and increase the competitiveness of the province, striving towards achieving the goals according to the policy of the Ministry of Labour, which is for “quality skilled workers to have jobs and outstanding social security, focusing on driving the economy.”
“On behalf of the Ministry of Labour, I would like to thank Narathiwat Province, all government agencies, employers/establishments from the private sector, educational institutions, and everyone involved in organizing the event for the same goal. The goal is to promote employment, prepare for the workforce, and develop people in every dimension and at every age to raise and develop the quality of life of the people so that they have jobs and income, consistent with the goals of Narathiwat Province in making society livable and people have a good quality of life,” Mr. Thanat said.
     The Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, said that the event had many exciting activities, such as direct recruitment and interviews with employers in Narathiwat and nearby provinces for a total of 20 companies with 372 job vacancies. There were also pre-registrations for job applications through the online system. The event had advisory and registration services for people interested in working abroad, freelance career demonstrations, and hands-on trials of careers. There was an exhibition of further education guidance for students who are close to graduating, career guidance services, career readiness assessments, and English language tests for job applications. There was also a personality assessment service for further education and career selection, as well as the World of Careers exhibition and virtual learning. In addition, there was an advisory on financial resources for careers and services provided by agencies under the Ministry of Labour, displays and sale of products for home workers, self-employed groups, people with disabilities, and the elderly, and an opportunity for people to find ideas for starting a franchise business worth investing in. Activities on stage included a lecture on “The world of careers today and in the future” and answering questions to win prizes.
     He asked to spread the good news to job seekers nationwide. The Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment has scheduled the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths” activity in Phuket on August 2, 2024. He invited job seekers, students, and citizens who are interested in finding work, want to develop skills, and find ideas for additional careers to join the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Phuket.”
