MOL Conducts Official Inspection in Northern Israel

          On June 13, 2019, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr.Apinya Sujarittanan and a committee of departmental inspectors including Mr. Suwan Duangta and Mrs. Udomluk Sornsari traveled to inspect Thai workers working in the northern region of Israel, in Kibbutz Matsuva, located at the northernmost point on the Israel – Lebanon border. The location was a large banana farm with 14 Thai workers, mostly from the northeastern region. From discussions, the Thai workers were satisfied with the working and employment condition and had proper living standards.

          The committee then proceeded to Kibbutz Ein Sivan on the northernmost border f Israel-Syria, to a cherry garden business for tourism with 9 Thai workers. The Thai workers were satisfied with the working conditions and wages following the law. The committee expressed the Ministry of Labour’s concern for workers working near the border area and emphasized for the Thai workers to save money, return them to their families, not interfere with gambling and drugs and to contact the Labour Department for all consultations and assistance.
