On December 20, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong to discuss cooperation in skill development with Siam Computer and Language School, including digital and language competencies, to be more systematic and efficient. The discussion took place at the meeting room of the Permanent Secretary of Labour, 7th floor, Ministry of Labour.
The government has set a policy to drive the country towards a Thailand 4.0, following the 20-year national strategy and the digital development plan for the economy and society to develop digital literacy capabilities. Therefore, digital literacy assessments for government officials and government personnel were established. From the current situation, the spread of COVID-19 has affected lifestyle changes. Working in the New Normal involves more applications of digital technology. The key mechanism for using digital technology for such operations is having knowledgeable personnel and using digital platforms for work.
The Siam Computer and Language School is an educational institution under the Ministry of Education, offering short-term professional courses in computer technology and foreign languages. It is an international standard digital competency assessment unit with the IC3 Digital Literacy Certification. It is also a Digital Literacy Assessment Unit and an e-Commerce Performance Assessment Unit, Professional Qualifications Institute (Public Organization).
