On March 29, 2022, Advisory Board Member to the Minister of Labour, Mr. Natthawat Teeratathamrong, joined the meeting to clarify the implementation of education promotion and employment opportunities for students and workers of all levels. The occasion occurred at the Prajaktra Design Hotel, Mueang Udon Thani District, Udon Thani Province.
Mr. Natthawat said that the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Education, by Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin and Education Minister Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on promoting education and employment for students and workers of all levels on January 19. Both agencies have jointly driven the cooperation following the related missions.
Mr. Natthawat said that today, he represented the Ministry of Labour. He said that Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin emphasized the Prime Minister’s policy to accelerate professional skills development and promote employment. He gives importance to human resource development at all ages. The focus is especially on the working-age, who must develop skills to be in line with the changes in technology to reduce the shortage of knowledgeable, competent, and skilled workers, ensuring skills that meet the needs of the labour market in both quantity and quality.
Regarding the framework of such cooperation, the Ministry of Labour will promote employment suitable for job seekers’ knowledge and abilities, protecting them from being scammed and promoting them as the center of the labour market. It aims to develop labour skills and entrepreneurial potential to meet international standards and to supervise occupations that may be harmful to the public and require competent persons. The efforts also aim to improve the quality of life and work safety, build network partners to develop valuable work, labour protection, and welfare, strengthen social security, and protect insured persons. It also aims to provide research and statistics services to support the preparation of standards and personnel development to promote occupational safety, health, and working environment to meet international standards.
