On March 14, 2020, at 10.30 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet observed the renewal of work permits at the One Stop Service Center (OSS) in Songkhla. Songkla Provincial Employment Officer Mrs. Chuanchom Bua-anont led the inspection of operations for the group of workers with work permits expiring from March 31, 2019 to June 30, 2020. Information as of March 13, 2020, showed 21,970 foreign workers from the 3 nationalities who applied for work permits, from the target of 19,299. This is because employers from other provinces transferred many foreign workers to work in the area, in construction and fishing businesses. The business categories can be divided into 5 types, including the construction business, downstream agricultural business, agriculture and livestock business, downstream fishing business and distribution of food and beverage business. The renewal of the work permit will end on March 31, 2020 at Muang, Songkhla.
