On May 20, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, presided over discussions with the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand regarding establishing a hedge fund. The meeting also considered amendments to the law on compensation payments and tax breaks, especially amid the COVID-19 crisis. The outbreak has lasted over two years, causing many SME entrepreneurs to go out of business. In this regard, relevant representatives from the Ministry of Labour and 20 representatives from the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand attended the discussion at the Prasong Rananant Meeting Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
For the discussions, the Permanent Secretary of Labour provided information that establishing a hedge fund is still in the process with the study of guidelines, which may take time because it is sensitive and requires high precision, especially regarding the law. He assured participants that in taking action, the Ministry of Labour accounts for the interest of all parties as much as possible, minimizing impacts on all sectors.
