MOL Joins Kluaynamthai Hospital in Tour to Share Training Scholarships

          The Deputy Labour Minister reported that the Department of Skills Development joined with the Kluaynamthai Hospital to invite interested youths to participate in the elderly care training, ready to support over 360 training scholarships.

          On March 20, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat revealed that the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development (DSD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on skill development in elderly care with a group of companies affiliated with Kluaynamthai Hospital and Kluaynamthai Foundation in mid-October 2020. The Kluaynamthai Hospital and Kluaynamthai Foundation look forward to helping youths who lack the opportunity and funds but want to pursue a career, further their education, and have an income to take care of their family. Therefore, they joined together with the DSD, an agency with the main mission to develop the country’s workforce skills to strengthen employment opportunities.

          The Deputy Labour Minister continued that the visit to observe the operations of agencies under the DSD intended to encourage trainees, including workers in the system, informal workers, and vulnerable groups. It also visits provinces assigned by the government following the project to drive Thailand together, having an opportunity to lead the Kluaynamthai Hospital team into areas to provide information on self-care, first aid, and recruit interested people to attend the training course on caring for the elderly. The provinces that Kluaynamthai Hospital have had the opportunity to meet with youths, parents, and labour volunteers to share information with people in the community, including the Suphanburi Province, the Nan Skill Development Office, and the Ratchaburi Skill Development Institute 4. For feedback from sharing information in these three provinces, 17 people were interested in applying for the training. It is expected that the training will begin around May 2021. There are still youths waiting to consult with their parents to a decision. The Kluaynamthai Hospital will give scholarships to trainees for training throughout the course, valued at 95,000 Baht per scholarship. Coverage consists of an entrance fee, English training fee, the cost of equipment and training materials, clothing, accommodation, and three meals daily.

          Currently, the program is still recruiting interested people to participate in the training. Applicants must be female, aged 18-35 years old, graduated from Grade 9 at a minimum, and in good health, does not have a disease that impedes training and work. Applicants must not weigh less than 40 kg and not under 150 cm in height. Those who complete the training will be placed to work within Kluaynamthai Hospital’s group of companies and will receive compensation of approximately 15,000 Baht per month.
