MOL Joins Subcommittee Meeting to Drive Implementation of Cooperation at the Ministerial Level for Countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region

          On May 2, 2022, at 09.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong assigned Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, as a representative in the subcommittee meeting to drive the implementation of cooperation at the ministerial level of countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region to combat human trafficking, no. 1/2022. The meeting took place via electronic media at the Sangsingkaew Conference Room with representatives from the Department of Employment, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, and the Office of the Secretariat of the Labour Trafficking Prevention Command Center. The meeting considers the preparation of the fifth Coordinated Mekong Ministerial Initiative (COMMIT) or “Commit Process” and the 15th Senior Officials Meeting. It also sets the time frame and activities according to the ministerial cooperation framework of countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region. This cooperation is between the governments of six countries in the Mekong sub-region, including Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand. The meeting prepared for discussions to strengthen and sustain multilateral cooperation in the fight against human trafficking and considered the timeframe for implementing subcommittees and activities under the Ministerial Cooperation Framework of countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region from May to September 2022.
