On July 11, 2024, at 09.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, presided over the Ministry of Labour’s volunteer activities to serve the public interest in honour of His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s 72nd birthday on July 28, 2024. The Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, and Mr. Phuchong Worasri, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, Governor of Pathum Thani Province, Mr. Phasakon Bunyalak, heads government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Pathum Thani Province and nearby provinces, heads of government agencies in Pathum Thani Province, business establishments, the private sector, community leaders, fellow citizens and volunteers in the area participated in the activities at Thepsoranthammaram Temple, Mueang District, Pathum Thani Province.
The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, said that on the occasion of the auspicious ceremony to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday on July 28, 2024, activities were organized to show loyalty and gratefulness for His Majesty’s grace and offered as royal merit to His Majesty the King. The Ministry of Labour collaborated with the private sector, establishments, and labour sector networks to set up volunteer activities to serve the public good in honour of His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday on July 28, 2024, at the Thepsoranthammaram Temple, Mueang District, Pathum Thani Province. The volunteering activities to serve the public interest celebrate His Majesty the King. The activities were divided into two parts: volunteer activities to develop the quality of life of serving the people and volunteering to develop the environment. The volunteer activities to improve the quality of life in providing services to the people consists of an activity giving 300 relief bags to bedridden patients, the disabled, and the elderly. There are mobile vehicles available to provide job recruitment services both domestically and abroad and demonstrate self-employment opportunities in making bananas and Lui Suan noodles. There was also short-term vocational training in artificial arts, such as making a keychain from cloth and cloth bags, oil change services, and essential motorcycle inspection services. Haircut services were available for both men and women, including Thai massage services. Business establishments met with people to give out consumer items. Medical and basic health check services were available, providing vaccinations against four strains of influenza. Blood donations were also accepted. There were mobile vehicles to publicize social security benefits and to recruit people insured under Section 40, as well as providing free food and drinks to volunteers who joined in the activities. The volunteer activities to develop the environment included releasing 72,000 natural fish to restore the environment and create food sources in the community. Volunteers also cleaned the temple area and improved the landscape by painting the bathroom area and around the stairs of Luang Pu Suang.
The Labour Minister added that in addition to the cooperation of government officials, the Ministry of Labour’s officials also receive cooperation from government agencies and the private sector, including primer wall paint and exterior wall paint products from “Nippon Paint” in the amount of 9 buckets, consisting of 3 buckets of old cement primer paint, at the 15-liter size, and six buckets of exterior wall paint, also in 15 liters buckets. There were given by the Pure Heart Foundation, EA, and Nippon Paint to support the volunteer activities honouring His Majesty the King. The Labour Minister thanked the supporters for recognizing the importance of volunteer activities for public benefit organized by the Ministry of Labour. This has helped people in the community to participate in doing good deeds with their hearts and sacrifices for the public, offered as royal merit to His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday this year.
“I would like to invite all Thai citizens to join together in volunteer activities to serve the public good. Together, we can do good in every way and every day throughout the year to present as a royal merit to all our King Rama 10,” said Mr. Phiphat.
