MOL Meets to Raise Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness

          On March 4, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, presided over the meeting to raise awareness of human trafficking and report on follow-up actions under Section 6 and Section 6/1 of the Anti-Human Trafficking Act, B.E. 2551. Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, and representatives from relevant agencies attended the meeting via teleconference at the Saengsingkaew meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The meeting considered the request for Provincial Labour Offices, Provincial Labour Protection, and Welfare Offices and Provincial Employment Offices, to provide clues about human trafficking and forced labour or local services, and the task force against human trafficking, to consider ascertaining from the information received and to extend the result to prosecute the relevant parties.
          In addition, the Provincial Labour Office was also considered to submit a follow-up report form under Section 6 and Section 6/1 of the Anti-Human Trafficking Act B.E. 2551 and the Labour Trafficking Prevention Center. The Provincial Labour Office participates in identifying victims in human trafficking cases with the multidisciplinary team to be able to be used as information and evidence supporting opinions in various cases of the Ministry of Labour officials.
