On 3 February 2017 at 10.00 at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram conference room, Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul will chair the press conference on the commencement of “M-Powered Thailand”, a holistic online professional development platform. The Ministry of Labour has partnered with Microsoft (Thailand) on the project which focuses on a single-stop solution for workers looking to increase their income. The platform starts with human resource development in alignment with true labour demands via a Smart Job link, an Online Mentoring E-Learning page to promote development in all professions and a collection of information to share with the workforce and those looking to increase income. The information database includes information such as labour laws, social security benefits, and labour benefits. The platform looks to promote all workers in all professions equally, aligning with government policy on escaping the middle income gap, increase Thailand’s competitiveness and promote the 20-year national strategies (2017-2036) towards a Thailand 4.0.
In addition to the M-Powered Thailand project, the Ministry of Labour’s affiliated units will organize booths to provide online and digital know-how on how to use the platform. Demonstrations will be conducted by Microsoft such as application design by a world-class champion from the Imagine Cup 2016 and the integration of technology as a channel to communicate with the people. The Ministry of Labour invited the public to join the event on 3 February 2017 from 09.30-11.30 at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram conference room at the Ministry of Labour.
