At 11.00 hours on December 24, 2021, at the Thep Ratanaphithayakon Conference Room, 4th floor, Building 605, Chitralada Institute of Technology, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for the Development of Manpower in Skill Development and Employment Promotion between Chitralada Institute of Technology and the Ministry of Labour. Rector of Chitralada Institute of Technology Associate Professor Dr. Khunying Sumontha Phromboon and Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, joined as signatories. The Department of Skills Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, the Department of Employment’s Director-General Pairoj Chotiksetian, the Vice President of Chitralada Institute of Technology Assistant Professor Dr. Santhanee Phasuk, and the Director of Chitralada Vocational School, Dr. Nuanongthamcharoen, joined as witnesses. The Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, Secretariat to the Labour Minister Mr. Suthep Chitvong, Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol and Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, and the Ministry of Labour’s senior executives also joined the occasion. This signing aims to develop skilled manpower for people of the working ages to have the knowledge, abilities, skills, and positive attitudes about working, to be quality, skilled workers to support the expansion of the economy in the future. The efforts are under the mission of skill training for the workforce, skill standards assessments, and encouraging students to have jobs suitable to their knowledge, abilities, and aptitudes per the needs of the labour market.
Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour thanks the Chitralada Institute of Technology for participating in the development of the workforce and promotion of employment. By signing the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for the Development of Manpower in Skill Development and Employment Promotion for those who graduate from the Chitralada Institute of Technology, the Ministry of Labour can comply with the government’s policies following the national strategy. It will contribute to creating a high-performing workforce that can continuously adapt to work and new jobs, focusing on using digital technologies in work. The effort will enhance the development of skills through up-skilling, re-skilling, and new skills by integrating government cooperation, educational institutions, the private sector, and establishments in the production of workers following the demands of the labour market.
“The Ministry of Labour is ready to support and develop skill training courses, labour skill standards assessments, knowledge and ability assessments and the exchange of resources such as teachers, lecturers, speakers, tools and equipment, to upgrade skills and the potential of the workforce to be on par with the international community. It will support and promote recruitment services for the self-employed and introduce sources of funds for occupations. Employers and establishments will have skilled, knowledgeable, and competent employees that meet their needs, reducing labour shortages and supporting the economy’s expansion in the future. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding today will drive the policies of the government and the Ministry of Labour to become more concrete,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
Associate Professor Dr. Khunying Sumontha concluded that the Chitralada Institute of Technology is an educational institute under the royal initiative to be a “partner in studies and work.” It focuses on technology, innovation, and entrepreneurial potential to create good people with skills, discipline, and professional ethics. From the guidelines above, the Institute of Manpower Production and Development at the vocational level, vocational certificate, and bachelor’s degree will promote people to have the knowledge, skills, and professions where the skill standards meet labour market requirements so that they can pursue a career according to their own, society and the nation’s needs, which is the origin of the work between the Chitralada Institute of Technology and the Ministry of Labour. The Institute is very pleased that the Ministry of Labour supports the development of quality manpower to have skilled workers to support the expansion of the labour market, which is consistent with the educational management according to the Institute’s royal initiative.
