On 9 may 2014, Mrs. Chantana Boon-arj, Minister Counsellor (labour affairs) was invited to join orientation of IM Japan of the batch 26-01 to enlighten knowledge in working and living to 24 Thai trainees that Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour set to be trained at IM Japan in Minami Kashiwa, Saitama. In this regard, Mr. Malee Wada, Overseas Employment Coordinator also attended the orientation.
1 All trainees of batch of 26-01 are male having 3 year training period (only 1 who has 1 year training period)
2. Chargé d’affaires inform to all trainees that throughout training years in Japan, Office of labour Affairs in Japan will take care of them and render assistance to all trainee, and advise them rules and regulation of working and living in Japan, awareness and cautions. Chargé d’affaires also asked them to learn Japanese working style and apply with their job in Thailand in order to develop the nation and set up the aim of life about saving and Japanese language practice. All trainees are recommended to try to pass at least N3 Japanese proficiency test for a chance to get good job with high salary or run their own business after returing to Thailand.
3 the Japanese Laws are so strict so that all trainees have to be aware of breaking the law such as driving without license, getting on train without ticket, sexual harassment ect.
4. Mr. Walee further explained the details of Labour Law regarding working hours, holidays, overtime working hour calculations, overtime payment for a basic knowledge before start working in the company since several trainees were found to be misunderstood about these matters because of the detailed and provisions in the law somewhat different from Thai Labour Law.
