Newly Applied Section 40 Insured Persons in 16 Provinces Receive 5,000 Baht in Remedies Today

          On September 20, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the payment of remedies to insured persons under Section 40 in the 16 dark red provinces with the highest control, including Nakhon Ratchasima, Rayong, Ratchaburi, Saraburi, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Lopburi, Phetchabun, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Prachin Buri, Phetchaburi, Tak, Ang Thong, Nakhon Nayok, Samut Songkhram, and Singburi. He said that today (September 20, 2021), the Social Security Office would transfer remedies to newly registered insured persons who have paid contributions under Section 40 between August 4 to 24, 2021, for 1.94 million people. Eligible persons will receive 5,000 Baht each.
          Mr. Suchart emphasized that insured persons who have not received their rights to immediately link their bank account number with their ID card so that the bank can transfer the money to their PromptPay account successfully. In addition, insured persons who were missed out and were in the areas eligible for remedies but did not receive any compensation can submit a right to review by downloading the request form to review their eligibility at the Social Security Office’s website on www.sso.go.th. Once they fill out the information, they can send it via registered mail to the Social Security Office in the 29 dark red provinces from now until October 31.           “The transfer of remedies to insured persons under Section 40 in the 16 newly registered provinces will be at 5,000 Baht each. The money is not much, but it will alleviate the troubles and reduce the burden of living expenses and the cost of living for self-employed workers. The effort follows the intentions of the Prime Minister and the government to allow self-employed people to enter the social security system, receive government compensation, and access to future state aid measures so that everyone and every group can access welfare and overcome this COVID-19 situation together,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
