Officails from Office of Labour Affairs in Japan visit IM Japan trainees in Saitama, Gunam

On December 1 and 23, Ms. Chantana Boon-Arj, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affairs) and Ms. Malee Wadah, asssitant tasked on oversea employment promotion, met with employers and 17 Thai trainees of recipeint companies of the IM Japan programme in Saitama and Gunma prefectures.

 

At Tokin Kogyo Co.,Ltd.  in Saitama, the two officials met with an employer and three Thai trainees. The trainees were taksed to spray-paint shelves. They said they were living well in Japan. They had not undetaken a Japanese langauge test but were intersted to sit the next one.

 

At Eiko Co.,Ltd. in Saitama, the officails met with an emloyer and 6 Thai trainees, who were tasked to cut metals and use a machine to punch metal.

 

At Assembly Plant Glory Co., Ltd in Gunma, the officails  met with the company’s employer and Thai welding trainees. They also held a meeting with 8 Thai trainees at their domitory, arraged by the employer. The dommitory was well organised.

 

The minister counsellor gave the trainees books and dried foods. The trainees were told to train hard, learn to save money and practice Japanese, which is an essentail skill when they return to Thailand. They were also warned no to be lured by illegal Thai brokers to leave their work and get a new job elsewhere. They do only have to pay fees for consultation but will become illegal workers, who could end up being imprisoned, fined or exiled from the country.
