Office of Labour Affairs in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) represented by H.E. Mr. Vitoon Sukawatanakul, Minister Counsellor (Labour) and officials of Office of Labour Affairs welcomed Assistant Minister of Labour (Mr. Yuph Nana) and the group namely at Mr. Supat Kukhun, Deputy Director-General of Department of Employment, Mr. Wasan Satorn, Inspector-General of Department of Employment and Mr. Sutthi Sukosol, Director of Overseas Employment Administration Office on the occasion of their visit to promote Thai employment in UAE., Qatar and Kuwait during 24-30 April 2010.
Assistance of Minister of Labour and the group paid a courtesy visit call on H.E. Thai Ambassador of Abu Dhabi, Consul General of Dubai, UAE., H.E Ambassador in Doha, Qatar, and Kuwait. The subject matters can be concluded as follows; economic situation in Middle East countries had been recovering since the estimated price of oil rises suddenly leading to government of UAE., Qatar, and Kuwait expand several construction investment projects for national economic infrastructure. The top ranking-Middle East countries mostly tending to hire Thai workers are Qatar due to its economic stability since it has a great amount of income from natural gas exportation, and UAE, especially Abu Dhabi and Kuwait respectively. This is because in Kuwait, the government increasingly embarks on bidding a national economic infrastructure development project resulting in higher Thai workers employment.
Assistance of Minister of Labour and the group paid a courtesy visit call on Mr. Hussein Yousuf Al Mulla, Undersecretary of the Minister of Labour at Ministry of Labour of Qatar. Mr. Hussein informed that Qatar government underlines Thai employment and willing to hire more Thai workers for the project of the government sector and private sector. Currently, Qatar has accepted 54,000 applications from government and private sector requesting to hire Thai workers In addition, Mr. Yup Nana, Assistance Minister of Labour also discussed with the 14 competent employers in 3 mentioned countries regarding the Thai labour market expansion. Apparently, the employers increasingly demand over 2,000 Thai workers.
