Office of Education Affairs in Kaohsiung Visit Employers and Inspect Thai Workers at Formosa Heavy Industries Corporation

              On the 7th and 12th of November 2014, Miss Kannika Kaewsrisung, Advisor (on labour) at the Office of Education Affairs in Kaohsiung alongside Officials had an inspection visit to employers and Thai workers at Formosa Heavy Industries Corporation, a business on assembling machinery parts, pipes and industrial steam-boilers. The company had hired Thai workers through the Government to Government system implemented since 1995 whereby currently hiring a total of 133 Thai workers separated into 64 workers at the Jen-Wu, Kaohsiung plant and 69 at the Mai-Liao, Yun-Lin plant. On the occasion, employers had stated their objectives of hiring additional 150 Thai works in the near future with 70 workers being welding workers and the remaining 80 workers for assembly.

 

             From the inspection of Thai workers, it was found that all Thai workers were satisfied with compensation and benefits arranged by the employers. The following employers were visited on the following dates:

               On the 7th of November, Mr. Chiew Gu Shoun, Vice President and Manager of the factory was visited as well as Thai workers at Fomosa Heavy Industries Corporation at the Jen-Wu, Kaohsiung plant.

 

 

 

 

                 On the 12th of November, Mr. Cheng Wang Chia, Vice President and Manager of the factory was visited as well as Thai workers at Fomosa Heavy Industries Corporation at the Mai-Liao, Yun-Lin plant.
