Office of Labour Affairs in Hong Kong holds an elderly care training program for assistant housekeepers. The 2012 fiscal year skill training program offers two courses for house keepers in Hong Kong. Each class has a maximum of 24 students.
 
The first course took place on June 10 and 17 while the second will be held on July 15 and 22.  The program aims its effort toward assistant housekeepers who are tasked to take care of elder people and have good command of Cantonese because its lecturers are those from Red Cross Society in Hong Kong. Students who pass the course will receive a certificate.
 
Mrs. Palida Kakam, Deputy Consul-General (Labour Affairs), presided over the opening of the first course at a training room of Red Cross Society in Hong Kong, Kwai Chung district, New Territories. It was attended by 24 students.
