According to the MOU between Ministry of Labour and Association for International Manpower Development of Medium and Small Enterprises, Japan (IMM Japan) to train Thai trainees toward the learning of technology of Japanese Medium and Small Enterprises since 1999, the qualified trainee selected by Department of Employment must attend the language and cultural course held by the Training Center, Department of Skills Development for four months, then they will be dispatched to train in Japan as a monthly basis.
On 12 November, 2010 Office of Labour Affairs in Japan was invited by IMM Japan to join the orientation session held for the batch of 22-07 (The 7th batch of the Japan’s 2010 fiscal year) which there were 20 trainees arriving on 14 October, 2010 and currently they are attending a one month-training course at The Training Center of IMMJapan, Motoyawata, Chiba before training at the enterprises.
Minister Counsellor (Labour) had addressed that MOL had placed importance to Thai youths in training with IMM Japan because the training program would assist trainees to develop their skills which will benefit them once return to Thailand. Therefore, they were requested to exercise 3 yr experiences in Japan to render the greatest benefit by learning Japan’s advanced technology and work culture as well as other beneficial aspects, in particular, Japanese language. To live in Japan, this will enable the trainees to communicate with others and it will render workers high salaries due to the fact that skilled workers who are fluent in Japanese are highly demanded by Japanese enterprises in Thailand. In this regard, the trainees should keep away from unpleasant person who could lead to illegal escape, and avoid drinking alcohol likely to disturb neighbors and causing troublesome to employers and Japan’s society. Otherwise, it will affect the reputation of Thai trainees, and according to the previous incident; many trainees were excluded from the training program due to their misconduct. Accordingly, the primary intention of the training should be concerned and if the trainees could complete all work tasks, this will enable them to meet their objectives such as income, skill, work opportunity, and the new trainees will be entrusted to attend the training. As a result, this will render an increasing number of skilled workers in Thailand.
