On May 15 and 28, Mrs. Chantana Boon-Arj, Minister-Counsellor (Labour Affairs), was invited by recipient firms of IM Japan to deliver speeches during an orientation on how to work and stay in Japan for Thai trainees. The trainees include 17 workers for the 25-01 batch and 18 workers for the 25-02 batch. They have just arrived to undertake the training at the IM Japan training centre in Minami Kashiwa city of Saitama prefecture. Also attended was Mrs. Malee Wada who is an assistant in oversea employment promotion department.
Mrs. Chantana suggested during the orientation programme that trainees while receiving the training should set out their future life and learn Japanese language for their better future when they return home. She also advised them to save money, spend carefully while the Japanese yen depreciates and the Thai baht is strong.
Details of Japanese labour law including working hours, holidays, calculation on overtime working hours and payment, were also explained by her to the trainees to enable them understand before joining companies.
Trainees encountering problems were advised to contact the IM Japan office immediately, Mrs. Chantana advised the workers. They are also asked to preserve Thai good reputation.
