Following the signing of the cooperation agreement between Ministry of Labour and the Association for International Manpower Development of Medium and Small Enterprises, Japan (IMM Japan) to send Thai trainees to train and learn technology-skills from medium and small enterprises in Japan in 1999, Department of Employment has monthly selected a group of Thai trainees and sent them to receive training in Japan since.
On 6 October 2010, the Office of Labour Affairs in Japan received an invitation from IMM Japan committed organizations to join the orientation session of the 22-06 generation of 30 newly-arrived trainees (6th Generation of the Japan’s 2010 fiscal year), who arrived in Japan on 16 September 2010 and currently received a one-month training program at IMM Japan Training Center in Yatsuka, Saitama City before they would be sent to train in Japanese enterprises.
Minister Counselor (Labour) said during his address to the trainees that MOL placed important to send Thai youths to train in Japan under the IMM Japan program because it helped them develop skills and turned them into skilled labours, which would be very useful for them when they returned to the country. He would like them all to remember that they were valuable persons and they were the hope of the country. He hoped they made the best use of their 3 years time in Japan and tried to learn from the advanced technologies and all the good things in Japan so that they could harvest the knowledge and bring it back to develop Thai industries which currently lacked of skilled labours. In order to achieve their learning, they needed to emphasize on learning Japanese as the language was an important mean for them to discover new areas of knowledge. It was also very useful for their living in Japan. In addition, returned trainees could use the language to work in Japanese enterprises when they came back to Thailand and they would receive higher wage than other people. He would like them to always aware that they were the representatives of Thailand and therefore, they should try hard to make a good reputation for Thai trainees and not to create problems for employers. This would earn their trust from the employers so in the future they would be willing to accept more Thai trainees.
